This section will look at the history of the Priory of England - at Clerkenwell from 1144 - 1540. It will then look at attempts to revive the Priory as a Protestant organisation from 1831, through its legitimisation in 1888 by Queen Victoria to its international growth and formal recognition by SMOM in 1963.
